Hi, I’m Gavin.
I'm a product designer with over 25 years in the digital design world, spanning cities, industries, and a range of creative challenges. For the past 10+ years, I’ve focused predominantly on SaaS, designing solutions that address real problems while aligning with business goals.
My career has been shaped by a mix of hands-on experience and exploration, with roles across Sydney, London, and Spain, where I founded my own digital agency. These diverse experiences have strengthened my belief in design that is both functional and engaging.
Alongside my design work, I’ve led teams, managed cross-functional projects, and implemented design systems to drive consistency and efficiency. My work has been recognised with industry awards, which is a nice nod, but my real motivation comes from creating solutions that resonate and drive results.
My Process
I believe great design starts with understanding the ‘why’ behind each project. Through research and collaboration, I aim to create designs that are intuitive and practical. Here’s how I approach each project:
Outcome/Data-driven design: I draw on research, data, and insights to address real-world problems and deliver user-friendly solutions that meet both user expectations and business goals.
Cross-functional collaboration: Partnering with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders keeps projects impactful and feasible, ensuring alignment across teams and objectives.
Iterative design and testing: Involving users at each testing stage, I refine designs based on feedback, creating products that engage users and support measurable outcomes.
Tools & Methods
I work primarily with Figma, Framer, Notion, and Jira, alongside Lean and Agile methodologies that support an iterative and flexible design process.
I lead by building trust and collaboration, setting clear goals, giving space for creativity, and involving the team in decisions to create alignment and ownership.
